The serial entrepreneur Ricardo Arranz, who created the Villa Padierna resort, has previous form in developing resorts and urbanisations that are symbiotic: La Quinta Golf and Country Club being a prior example. The son of an agricultural family from Aranda de Duero, he had no previous experience in construction, having initially moved to Andalucía to study economics at Málaga University.
Now 62, Arranz was a youngster of 28 years when he had the idea to create this now iconic development.
