The Golden Mile is famous as Marbella’s most illustrious address, not just because it is home to many of the most gorgeous properties in the region, but also because of the pedigree associated with this location and the legendary Marbella Club and Puente Romano hotels that first made it internationally famous.

The best-known and most obvious part of the Golden Mile is the six-kilometre long palm-lined avenue that extends from Marbella town to Puerto Banús. Here, magnificent beachside mansions and penthouses flank the extensive resort area of the Marbella Club and Puente Romano. It is also an area known for its elegant beach clubs, boutiques, art galleries and fine dining.

On the inland side of the avenue, parks and luxurious villas ensconced within lush gardens follow a gentle upward slope that endows them with wonderful views. Here you will also find some of the best apartment complexes in Marbella, as well as gated villa communities and Andalusian village style ‘pueblos’ such as the enigmatic La Carolina.

The other Golden Mile
Everything is still at your fingertips, just a short distance away, but as you follow the leafy residential roads upwards, you enter a very private, peaceful zone with a distinct air of exclusivity. Continue further and you come to the ‘other’ Golden Mile, an area that still carries the name but exudes a slightly different atmosphere and offers distinct living environments.

Rocío de Nagüeles is the first of these, a peaceful villa suburb that was one of the first places where the original jet-set chose to build villas in-between the cover of pine trees. Set a little higher up, Nagüeles enjoys magnificent views across the Golden Mile to the sea. It is an area marked by villas set upon large private plots, some modern and others offering opportunities for modernising.

The upper part of the Golden Mile is Sierra Blanca, a gated villa suburb with a small collection of exclusive apartment and designer townhouse complexes that finds itself at the base of Marbella’s La Concha Mountain. The panoramic position provides spectacular coastal and mountain views in an area that is still only minutes away from Marbella but private and secure.

Cascada de Camoján is a gated community within a gated community; a small collection of beautiful villas on large plots tucked into a very private and scenic corner on the eastside of Sierra Blanca. It boasts some of the most beautiful properties in Marbella, with views to match and the luxury of bordering a protected natural area that offers wonderful landscapes and hiking trails.

Such is the variety of Sierra Blanca, whose distinct lifestyle zones, settings, views, property types and price ranges create an important sub-market within the overall property sector of Marbella and the Costa del Sol.
