Marbella’s most desirable urbanisations

In our previous blog we talked about the Golden Mile that visitors to Marbella know and first encounter: the elegant six-kilometre long avenue that links Marbella town with cosmopolitan Puerto Banús marina. Here you will find parks and exclusive eateries, hotels, boutiques and galleries extending on both sides of the road, flanked by luxurious villas and beachside apartment complexes on the frontline beach.

But while this is the focal point of this area, the Golden Mile is actually made up of several distinct residential zones, each with its own character, setting and views, but all within the most desirable segment of the market. Here we highlight the top four:

Puente Romano At the heart of the Golden Mile are the now legendary Marbella Club and Puente Romano resort hotels, which include a beach club, tennis club, wellness centre and the finest collection of fine dining establishments in Marbella. Extending outwards along the shoreline from here is one of the most sought-after residential zones in the region, enjoying direct access to the beach and sea views while being set within gorgeous gardens close to the Puente Romano tennis club. It is a private gated domain with 234 beautiful apartments in elegant Marina Puente Romano, surrounded by an Andalusian garden, a Persian garden and a Japanese garden.

There are also a number of select private beachfront villas in Puente Romano, within an area known as Los Verdiales, which is located at a mere stroll of all the resort’s amenities. Though properties for sale in Puente Romano are rare, they tend to be snapped up as soon as they reach the market, such is the demand for a Golden Mile beachfront home.

Nagüeles Venture a little further inland, following leafy roads that wind between parks and secluded residential areas, and you come to Nagüeles, one of the earliest villa suburbs of Marbella. This well-established area was selected by the original Marbella jet-set, yet it exudes an atmosphere of tranquillity and privacy, as the villas are set upon large, mature gardens. There are modernised villas for sale in Nagüeles, as well as older properties set upon expansive grounds with planning that allows for the creation of two or more modern villas. These are perfect renovation projects much in demand.

Sierra Blanca Bordering Nagüeles is the large gated villa suburb of Sierra Blanca, whose luxurious villas and smaller collections of exclusive apartment and townhouse complexes enjoy panoramic views of the sea and nearby Marbella town, which is just a few minutes away. It is a secure and private area that includes some of the finest villas for sale in Marbella. One of the unique characteristics of Sierra Blanca is the fact that it has the feel of a private country club yet finds itself so centrally located.

Cascada de Camoján Cascada de Camoján is a gated community on the north-eastern edge of Sierra Blanca, a small but highly exclusive community of beautiful villas that enjoy the same spectacular views but find themselves even more ensconced within greenery and private leafy roads. The villas in Cascada de Camoján are among the crème de la crème of Marbella real estate and back onto a protected natural zone with mountain scenery that includes streams and wooded areas just made for hiking.

These four residential areas illustrate the diversity of an area that runs from the beachfront just west of Marbella town up to the base of La Concha Mountain, encompassing a wide array of residential zones, locations, views and of course property types and price ranges—but always sharing the allure of being part of the Golden Mile, Marbella’s finest address.
