Cabopino – from pine trees to beach

The charming residential area of Cabopino in the heart of Marbella East is also one of the prettiest and most diverse in the greater Marbella region. Though compact, it offers so much, ranging from pine groves, long sandy beaches and protected coastal dunes to its own golf course and yacht marina – not to mention a good choice of shops, restaurants and cafés.

The majority of the latter are to be found in what is the social and water sports hub of Cabopino Marina, which must be the prettiest yacht harbour on the entire Costa del Sol. Here you can also berth your yacht, hire a boat for an excursion out to sea or practise anything from kite-surfing and jet-ski to scuba diving and parasailing.

Cabopino’s long stretches of beach are dotted with fish restaurants, beach clubs and laid-back chiringuito beach bars, many of them authentic with their ‘feet in the sand’. From here, the views back across the shoreline to Marbella also reveal a glimpse of the characteristic rocky outlines of Gibraltar and North Africa, so it’s an area of spectacular sunsets.

The shoreline here also features an ancient watchtower, a coastal nature reserve and a section of nudist beach, while across the coastal road Cabopino’s own golf course offers players a fine game amid amazing views of greenery and the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a world of greens and blues, with private villas and apartments tucked away between the pine trees.

Marbella, Mijas Costa, Puerto Banús and Elviria are all a few minutes away, and from here Málaga’s international airport is only about half an hour’s drive. Where this was once an area dominated by existing resales properties, there is now also an excellent choice of modern apartments and villas for sale in Cabopino, greatly expanding the range of possibilities.
