American-based United Airlines recently announced that from June 2023 they will be laying on direct flights to New York’s Newark Airport, making travel between the US and Spain that bit easier for holidaymakers and business travellers.

According to a recent report by a trusted Spanish property website, the Mediterranean coast of Spain far outperforms other towns throughout the country in terms of property prices. It may come as no surprise to people who live on the Costa del Sol that of the top three towns on the list, two are from our region.

Moving to live and work in Spain is straightforward if you come from an EU country. Thanks to freedom of movement rights in EU statutes, EU citizens are simply required to register with the local police and obtain an NIE certificate. For individuals from outside the EU, however – which, following Brexit, now includes British citizens – there is no automatic right be able to live and work in Spain.
