Ever since Michelle Obama decided she needed a little Costa del Sol sunshine while Barak was attending meetings in Spain, the Villa Padierna six-star hotel has been placed firmly on the map. Indeed, Villa 603 where she stayed has been renamed the ‘Villa Obama’.

There is renewed construction activity on the Costa del Sol, particularly in Marbella, Benahavis, Estepona and Mijas. This is not a fanciful notion; it is backed up by the latest statistics from the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos, who report that Marbella has 134 plans for apartments and houses approved so far.
