Cabopino is a charming area that draws people looking for a bracing walk on its spectacular beach and dining options in its small but perfectly formed port lined with lively restaurants and cafés. It is also a tranquil residential area that enjoys a setting of both beaches and pine forests, a location that provides easy access to Marbella, Mijas Costa and Málaga airport, which is only a 25-minute drive from here. Moreover, Cabopino has an air of exclusivity without being ostentatious, and that is a major part of its appeal.

Benahavís is one of the most charming mountain villages on the Costa del Sol. It is seven kilometres from the coast, a journey by car that can be made in a matter of minutes. Although the village itself is relatively small, the municipality covered by Benahavís is considerably larger and includes one of the most exclusive residential developments in southern Spain – La Zagaleta – a gated community comprising magnificent mansions and villas, plus a country club and sports amenities that include unrivalled sea and mountain views.

Marbella’s ‘Milla de Oro’ or Golden Mile is one of the most famous addresses in Europe. It represents a luxury lifestyle and its prestigious properties amply reflect its upmarket status. This six-kilometre stretch from Río Verde, east of Puerto Banús to Plaza Bocanegra in Marbella contains some of the most celebrated real estate in Spain, including a king’s palace.

The New Golden Mile is an area that roughly runs from Guadalmina on the western edges of Marbella municipality to Estepona. It may have borrowed its name from the original Marbella Golden Mile, but it is a distinct and interesting collection of communities in its own right and has been a popular residential area for many years

With so much of the focus in Marbella on Puerto Banús, La Zagaleta and the Golf Valley of Nueva Andalucía, there is an area that is sometimes a little overlooked yet highly popular with visitors and residents alike. In fact, Marbella East – the area extending from Río Real just east of Marbella town and Calahonda – is becoming increasingly fashionable.

Marbella is renowned for such luxury country clubs as La Zagaleta and El Madroñal, but these luxurious hillside estates in the foothills close to Marbella are not the only exclusive addresses of their kind in the area.
